Capability Life Cycle Manager (CLCM)

The CLCM is integrated into the System Program Office (SPO) and contracted to deliver through-life asset management of Products being supported (PBS). The CLCM performs asset, sustainment and engineering functions to optimise availability and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and minimise risk through life of the PBS. The CLCM works collaboratively via the SPO with Regional Maintenance Centre’s (RMC) to plan maintenance activities and installation of capability upgrades. The CLCM works collaboratively via the SPO with the Design Services Contract (DSC) to plan and execute engineering changes and services. The CLCM delivers functions against the contract scope across the Asset Class Enterprise to support Defence Maritime Capability

The Opportunity:

In this pivotal role, you will help drive maintenance assurance, operational performance, and through-life support outcomes across a complex maritime sustainment program.

Working closely with key stakeholders, you will provide independent assurance and strategic insights that support capability readiness, risk reduction, and continuous improvement.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity and is based out of Garden Island, Sydney.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a ssurance activities o f the Annual, One plu s One and Fiv e- Year Work Program s fo r initial delivery to the Maintenance Assurance Manager
  • Analy si s of co ntinuous schedule ri sk a s an a ssurance activity t o the planning, scheduling in accordance with the Stage Gate exit point s IP Ts, EM P IPTs and PEB’ s
  • Identifying and inve stigating oppo rtunitie s to reduce through l ife support co st s
  • Driving initia tive s to minimi se unnece ssary duplica tion of m aintenance acti vitie s or conduct of unnece ssary maintenance activitie s
  • En suring con sideration i s given to the source of vendor eq ui pment (including spare s and support) with re spect to RAN commonality, L CC, Au stral iani sation to i mprove supportability and AIC
  • Revie w and a ssurance of TPCCs and a ssociated progres s reporting metric s
  • Contribute to programma tic a ssurance report s over the Stage Gate 1 to 6 end to end proce sse s
  • Contribute to the a naly si s of continuou s schedule ri sk a s an a ssurance activity to the planning scheduling in accordance with the S tage Gate e xit poi nt s IP Ts, EM P IP Ts and PEB’s
  • Identifying ri sk s and i ssue s a ssociated with ILS and supportab il ity a spect s of the pro ject
  • Perform the dutie s of the ILS A naly st s a s required
  • Identifying, reporting a nd monitoring ri sk s a ssociated with pr ocurement and sparing
  • Monitoring overarching procurement a ctiv itie s for the Pro ject and rai sing i ssue s of concern

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

Essential:

  • A s a minimum, recogni sed Vocational Education and Training qualifica tion in Engineering.
  • Pro ject and contract management experience.
  • Minimum of 5 year s releva nt experience in Mai ntenance A ssurance in a Defence role.
  • Working kno wledge in Naval sy stem s, such a s Configuration Management Too l- Unified (CMT-U) and A sset Management and Planning Sy stem (AM PS).
  • Very strong interper sonal skill s and abil ity to communic ate ef fectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively, but can also operate autonomously using initiative, sound rea soning, li stening and evidenc e-ba sed deci sion-making skill s

Desirable:

  • Engineering diploma or maritime competence s & trade sk ill s
  • Prior experience as a Waterfront Engineer or Ship Superi nten dent – Defence.
  • Proven skills and experience in leading contracted planned maintenance and breakdown activities
  • Working knowledge in Naval Systems such as MILIS and NAVALLOW
  • Excellent technical skills in marine systems
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in high pressure environments

All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a Baseline Clearance or above should apply.
