Job Description

Evolito’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of electric propulsion in aerospace applications in support of a net-zero world. We will help to revolutionise personal mobility and transform our towns and cities with clean, noise-free air transportation.

Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation.

As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high-integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.

As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for a Maintenance and Calibration Engineer to be responsible for ensuring that all production equipment and industrial assets are effectively managed and maintained according to the Manufacturing Schedules.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implementa calibration and maintenance strategy that covers all production equipment andGSE/tooling

  • Take ownership ofthecritical spares process,including continuousimprovements on spares management and planned preventive maintenanceplans

  • Engage in safety topics such asriskassessments, PUWER, LOLER, and safety audits

  • Supportthe ManufacturingEngineering team to analyseimpacts ofchange/modificationsto equipment and industrial means

  • Supporting theProduction team to analyse andforecastthe cost of production through monthly dashboard andworking withplanning and scheduling teamson medium to long term planningactivities

  • Working closely with theProduction teamandunderstand manufacturing pain points from the source

  • Evaluating current and future industrial solutions and giving recommendations

  • Support future facility and capital discussions on capital investment from a technical production perspective

  • Ensurecontinuous monitoring and improvement of manufacturing efficiency

  • Support process optimisation, maximizingvalueadded with priority on critical path

  • Adhere to andcomply withthe Business Management System requirements.

Skills and experiencerequired

  • Degreein Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience

  • Experience in a highly technical manufacturing environment,with a strongunderstanding of tooling, tolerancingandprocess controls

  • Ability to support and plan for future opportunities/volumes, while having the ability to manage day-to-day activities

  • Experience/ knowledge inleanmanufacturingprinciples (VSM, etc.) and variance analysis (6Sigma)

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their limitations

  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance requirements and scheduling

  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes

  • Ability to work under pressure while managing conflicting demands against tight deadlines

  • Instinctive problem-solving skills coupled with a sound analytical approach

  • A flexible approach to work and the desire to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment

  • An ability to communicate complex and technical processes to diverse audiences, orally and in writing

  • UK driving license and ability to travel.
