Alaska Waste is looking for a Maintenance Administrative Assistant to join our team in Anchorage!

We are looking for a Maintenance Administrative Assistant to help keep our Anchorage shop in tip top shape. In this role, you will help the shop run smoothly by ordering parts, keeping stock of parts and materials, and keeping accounts and invoices all organized.

Schedule will be Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. Pay is between $25.00 and $30.00 per hour depending on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gather, input, retrieve and maintain maintenance information in both computer and manual systems

  • Provide general clerical work to assure the smooth operation of the Maintenance Department

  • Develop and issue computer reports as requested

  • Assist with and/or prepare materials

  • Prepare summary reports of transportation and maintenance costs

  • Compile information such as identification of items, cost, vendor, freight charges, etc. for purchasing of all maintenance materials

  • Review documents for sufficiency and maintaining any necessary follow-up

  • Maintain all files and inventory records of all orders placed and received, including delivery time schedules

  • Assist shop personnel with general clerical and data entry work

  • Utilize parts management software, Excel, and other MS Office programs

  • Assist the manager in maintaining the parts room and inventories in accordance with Company policy

  • Update multiple reports daily, weekly, monthly and distribute to the Division

  • Perform a variety of accounting activities such as preparing check requests, expense reports, purchase orders

  • Track, update, report and pay memberships and affiliations.

  • Coordinate with the Division Maintenance Administrator.

  • Help other sites around the state as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Familiar with vehicle and equipment parts to assist shop personnel with clerical and data entry work

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and E-Mail, proficient in 10 key, keyboarding and typing skills a must

  • Highly organized

  • Excellent verbal communications skills

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
