About the Position

Holiday Inn Express Valdosta is looking for a dependable and skilled Maintenance Specialist to join our hotel team. This position is responsible for keeping the hotel, guest rooms, and common areas in safe, clean, and working condition.

The ideal candidate is someone who is hands-on, dependable, takes pride in their work, and can troubleshoot and repair a variety of maintenance issues with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel and guest rooms
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance issues
  • Perform preventative maintenance on hotel equipment and systems
  • Repair or replace light fixtures, outlets, switches, faucets, toilets, doors, locks, furniture, and other hotel fixtures
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff
  • Inspect guest rooms and common areas for maintenance issues
  • Assist with HVAC troubleshooting and basic repairs
  • Perform painting, drywall repair, caulking, and other general upkeep as needed
  • Maintain the hotel's exterior areas and assist with grounds maintenance
  • Keep maintenance areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized
  • Follow all company and hotel safety procedures
  • Document completed maintenance work and report larger issues to management
  • Assist with emergency maintenance situations when necessary
  • Provide friendly and professional service to guests and coworkers

Qualifications

  • Previous maintenance, hotel maintenance, facilities, apartment maintenance, or related experience preferred
  • General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and building maintenance
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine appropriate repairs
  • Ability to use common hand and power tools safely
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Dependable and able to work independently
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests
  • Must be able to work on your feet and perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, climbing ladders, and working in various areas of the hotel
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed

All of Williams’ operations are located along I-75 in Adel, Tifton and Valdosta, Georgia.
