Job Description

This position is responsible for leading site safety initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting operational leadership, and promoting a strong safety culture across the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and administer site safety programs and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA 1926, OSHA 1910, client requirements, and company policies.
  • Conduct and oversee incident investigations, root cause analyses, audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Manage new hire orientations, safety training, refresher training, and regulatory compliance programs.
  • Support project management in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and identify trends to improve site performance.
  • Assist with workers' compensation matters, regulatory inquiries, and compliance reporting.
  • Support emergency response planning, fire prevention programs, and safety meetings.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to site safety personnel and project supervision.
  • Promote employee engagement and proactively address safety concerns in the field.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910 and OSHA 1926 regulations.
  • Experience managing industrial or construction safety programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to build relationships and effectively influence both craft professionals and management.
  • Commitment to maintaining a strong safety culture and safe work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree in Safety, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • NCCER certification or other industry-recognized safety credentials.
  • Former Zachry employee.
  • Formal construction, technical, or trade school education.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and working in industrial environments.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators when necessary.
  • Ability to work around heavy equipment, elevated work areas, and active construction operations.
