We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer (Developer L3) to join our Technology Services team at Wipro Technologies, focusing on the TS - Industry Cloud & Digital sector. The successful candidate will possess 5-7 years of comprehensive programming expertise in mainframe environments, including COBOL LE, DB2, JCL, CICS, and VSAM, along with experience in both online and batch processing. Proficiency in IBM MQ and IBM WBE is required, with additional expertise in DB2 stored procedures considered an asset.

Your role involves developing, configuring, and maintaining critical enterprise applications, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and efficient solutions that advance our business goals. Familiarity with tools such as IBM Debug Tool, File Manager, and change management suites like ENDEVOR will empower you to ensure code integrity and streamline deployment cycles.

This position emphasizes not only strong technical skills but also excellent oral and written communication, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders and clear documentation of processes. Experience within the financial sector is advantageous, but not mandatory.

Areas of Responsibility

• Requirement Gathering: Engage with client stakeholders through workshops and discussions to elicit clear and comprehensive business process requirements, translating these into actionable technical specifications.
• Coding and Configuration: Develop, test, and deliver high-quality code for designated modules, ensuring seamless integration with complex system components and adherence to client expectations.
• Testing and Verification: Execute thorough testing cycles, including unit, integration, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), to validate software functionality and ensure reliability.
• Implementation and Support: Participate in the deployment of applications into production environments, ensuring smooth integration, stability, and ongoing system performance.
• Documentation Management: Produce detailed reports and technical documentation using visual aids like flowcharts, system layouts, and code annotations to facilitate understanding and maintenance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including analysts, quality assurance, and operations to guarantee solution compatibility and alignment with organizational standards.

Technical Responsibilities

Developers will be responsible for designing and implementing mainframe solutions using the following technologies:

• COBOL LE programming for batch and online transaction processing.
• Utilizing Database 2 (DB2) for efficient data management and stored procedure development.
• Writing and maintaining Job Control Language (JCL) scripts to manage batch jobs.
• Implementing CICS modules for transaction management.
• Interfacing with IBM MQ for robust message queuing operations.
• Application debugging and performance tuning using File Manager and IBM Debug Tool.

The role also involves leveraging change management tools such as ENDEVOR to maintain code version control, along with performance monitoring tools including TMON for CICS analysis and BMC MAINVIEW for DB2 performance optimization.
