Key purpose:

To maintain inventory records of all raw materials, waste, manage magazine operations and provide fork lift operations

Duties and responsibilities:

• Operate within the Orica SHE standards
• Perform job audits to ensure Orica safe working practices and environmental standards are being fully employed
• Compliance with magazine and fork lift operating procedures, including: work permits, confined space entry, control of change, PPE application, record keeping, security management and employee handbook
• No safety, health and environmental incidents
• No product transport incidents
• No personal accidents to self or direct reports
• No preventable security incursions or thefts
• Generation of daily and hourly reports
• Active participation in participative management approach
• Continuous variable production cost reduction (active project participation)
• Continuous fixed cost reduction (active project participation)
• Personal employee development towards higher-level capability
• Active participation in drafting and revision of operating procedures
• Active participation in continuous improvement of operating systems advantaging customer and Orica
• Active participation in logistics management into Kenyasi and proactive coordination of product and raw material movements to improve service to customer
• Active participation in site meetings, and demonstrable cooperation with Orica and Customers staff at Kenyasi.
• Assist Operations and Site Manager with local Kenyasi communities (in conjunction with Newmont) to facilitate community knowledge and acceptance of Kenyasi operations
• Ahafo Site (Newmont Ahafo Mine Site): normal working hours 06H0018H00, on 5 days on 2 days off work schedule

Qualifications and experience:

• High-school level education
• Experience in operating fork lift trucks preferred

Essential Skills:

• Self-starter
• Team player
• Fluent English speaker
• Other African languages an asset
• Knowledge of computer operation (preferred)
