Are you a talented and ambitious university student studying surveying looking to gain practical experience in your field of study? We have an internship opportunity for you to join OceanaGold, working at our Macraes Mine in Otago.
This paid internship will run from mid-November through to mid-February (dependent on exam timetable of the successful applicants) working with our talented Underground Surveying team on-site at Macraes. 9-day fortnight roster: 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off, 7am – 4:30pm daily.
What will you be doing?
Collecting and processing Boretrak data to assess drillhole position, direction and deviation against planned drill designs. Results will be analysed to identify drilling trends and opportunities to improve drilling accuracy. The intern will will gain practical experience in underground mine surveying, Boretrak operations, survey data processing and analysis, while developing an understanding of how drilling accuracy can affect development performance, including overbreak and underbreak.
