Job Description

Machinist

We are looking for a Machinist to join our Lansing, NY team.

The Machinist is responsible for setting up machines for Operators. This individual will also have experience reading drawings and manufacturing parts.

Location: Lansing, NY

Shift: First (7-3:30pm)

Hourly rate: $24-$25/hour

Your Challenge

  • Manufacture and inspect detailed parts from drawings using a variety of machining tools and equipment (mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, jig bores and other machining equipment).
  • Being able to perform mathematical and geometrical calculations.
  • Determine how to set up machines based on instructions received and perform minor repairs of equipment.
  • Responsible for keeping work area clean and free from safety hazards and to maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level.

What You Bring

  • Ability to read and interpret process worksheets, inspect parts, set-up, operate and maintain set-ups of machines, and maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level.
  • High school diploma.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to set up CNC lathes and mills preferred (6+ months or machinist schooling).
  • Wire EDM and waterjet experience are preferred.
