K&R Staffing is seeking an experienced
Machinist
for a well-established company specializing in
manufacturing, fabrication, prototyping, general machining, welding, and industrial repair work
.
This is a great opportunity for a skilled machinist who enjoys
variety and problem-solving
. The work may range from machining a new component from a drawing to repairing or modifying an existing part. The ideal candidate is mechanically minded, detail-oriented, and comfortable working on both custom and general machining projects.
Set up and operate machining equipment to produce, modify, and repair parts
Machine parts to specified dimensions and tolerances
Read and interpret
blueprints, drawings, sketches, and specifications
Perform general machining for manufacturing and repair projects
Assist with
prototype and custom part development
Measure completed work using precision measuring equipment
Inspect parts to ensure accuracy and quality
Determine appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining methods
Troubleshoot machining and fitment issues
Repair, modify, or reproduce damaged and worn components
Work closely with fabrication and welding personnel on custom projects
Maintain machines, tools, and work areas in safe working condition
Follow established safety and quality procedures
Requirements
Previous
machinist or machining experience
required
Experience working in a machine shop, manufacturing, fabrication, or repair environment preferred
Ability to read and understand blueprints and mechanical drawings
Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and materials
Experience using precision measuring tools such as
micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicators
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work accurately within required tolerances
Comfortable working on both production and one-of-a-kind/custom projects
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently when needed
Welding or fabrication experience is a plus
The ideal candidate is a
true machinist and problem-solver
who enjoys taking on different types of work. You should be comfortable looking at a print, damaged component, or prototype concept and determining the best way to machine or repair it.
