Job Description

The position of Machinist, Level I at Aqua-Chem will need to process components for assembly into customized clean water systems for customers domestic and around the world. Aqua-Chem is a team orientated work environment that encourages employee growth and innovation.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm (OT may be required on occasional Fridays)

Location: Onsite; Knoxville, TN

Pay Range: $20.00 - $26.00/hr, Dependent on Experience

Essential Duties:

• Mazatrol Matrix, M32, or Mazak Smooth control use experience is needed.

• Machine materials into components in accordance with company/customer requirements utilizing a variety of machining equipment.

• CNC Lathes and Mazak Lathes use.

• Drill Press, manual lathes, and manual mills use.

• Program CNC equipment to produce components that meet quality specifications.

• Operate material handling equipment (forklift/overhead crane) to maneuver parts safely into place, while facilitating and optimizing workflow.

• Calculate dimensions or tolerances using instruments such as micrometers and/or vernier calipers.

• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.

• Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools such as lathes, and milling machines.

• Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings and engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operation needed to fabricate products needed for production.

• Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space.

• Operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.

• Comprehend and follow ISO procedures to ensure compliance with standard.

• Demonstrate ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within required time.

• Participate in root cause analysis projects and Continuous Improvement programs.

• Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Education/Experience:

• At least 1 year fabricating in a manufacturing environment

• Manual Mill and Lathe experience

• Programing experience on Mazatrol Matrix or M32 control use, and/or G code, preferred.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• High School Diploma/GED required

• Basic shop math and measurement skills

• Basic reading and interpretation of blueprints/drawings

• Able to work overtime as required
