We have an exciting opportunity for a Machinist III to join the JETSII contract!
This is a CBA union position
The Machinist III will:
Requires Occasional:
· Climbing and maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level.
· Lifting up to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and overhead (occasional).
· Carrying up to 50 pounds for 3 feet (occasional).
· Bending, kneeling, crouching/squatting and crawling from 1 to 30 minutes at a time.
Requires Frequent:
· Reaching for, handling, and manipulating objects and materials in all directions.
· Standing.
· Hearing with or without correction.
Requires Constant:
· Coordinating eyes, hands, and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
· Seeing with or without correction.
Requires the ability to:
· Follow set procedures and standards.
· Apply basic mathematical skills.
· Plan and work selecting proper tools.
· Compare and understand differences in the size, shape, and form or lines, figures, and objects.
· Follow written and oral directions, plans and blueprints.
· Picture and evaluate solid objects from drawings or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked.
· Recognize and report safety hazards.
Must be able to work in a fast paced team environment. Performs routine and/or non-routine skilled work, relies on experience and judgment to plan and execute tasks. Must be able to wear steel toed shoes. Will be required to participate in hearing loss prevention program.
The Manufacturing Facility is a large, climate controlled work area with an array of machining equipment. Exposure to uneven ground levels, various noise levels caused by power tools, machinery, equipment, etc.
Operate and maintain machining centers both manual and CNC (mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, hones, borers, water jets, etc.), powered shop tools (grinders, wire wheels, etc.), shop equipment (presses, drills, sheet metal brakes, sanders, saws, shears, etc.), lifts, mobile hoists (cherry pickers), chain hoists, overhead cranes, pallet jacks (powered and unpowered), hand trolleys, 4-wheel dollies, hand tools, stands, clamps, vises, potential forklift.
Computer workstations, peripheral equipment to maintain/adjust database logs and records, and print documents. Other office machines (printer, fax, etc.).
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
