dormakaba is seeking a Machinist II based in Indianapolis, IN. The Machinist II will perform machine setups, tool changes, and make adjustments as necessary.

This position is available on Third Shift (10:00PM – 6:30AM) with a base pay range of $24/hr. - $35/hr. plus a $.75/hr. shift differential. Overtime may be required as needed. (Pay range will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) What you will do

• Operate machine according to standard operating instructions
• Operate machine(s) safely and communicate any problems which arise to the supervisor/lead person
• Perform machine setups, tool changes, making adjustments as necessary
• Monitor, maintain, weigh, and safely add chemicals as required
• Ability to operate/run multiple machines simultaneously

What we require

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Extensive machine operating experience including setups, tool changes, etc.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments
• Ability to perform advanced quality inspections

• Use hands and fingers for seizing, holding, grasping, turning, etc. and for fine manipulation such as touching, picking, and pinching
• Communicate effectively in a manufacturing environment by speaking and listening
• Use close/distance/color/peripheral vision, including using depth perception and adjusting focus
• Remain active throughout shift by sitting or standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and reaching/lifting/moving items up to 40 pounds, maneuvering in a manufacturing facility

What we prefer

• Understanding of shop math, blueprint reading/comprehension, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT)
• SAP or MRP system knowledge;
• Computer proficiency and Lean skills
• Documented manufacturing education/training
• An understanding of the application of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and similar quality control concepts
