As a Machinist I, you'll be hands-on working tear down, inspections, and documenting turbochargers to a standard that keeps critical equipment running for customers who can't afford downtime. WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Independently tear down and assess turbochargers, evaluating component condition against Cooper's quality standards.
• Document findings clearly — taking condition photos and completing all required paperwork for every job.
• Perform sandblasting and glass beading to prepare component surfaces for rebuild.
• Clean and degrease turbocharger components to meet strict quality and cleanliness standards.
• Package finished products for shipment according to customer and company specifications.
• Work safely at all times, following Cooper and government safety policies to protect yourself and your teammates.
• Keep your workstation and the shop organized, pitching in on day-end clean-up.
• Take on additional projects as assigned, and grow your skills across the full turbocharger process.

WHO YOU ARE

• You hold a High School Diploma or GED.
• You bring 0–2 years of machining experience — oil & gas or related industrial experience is a plus.
• You're comfortable and accurate with precision measuring tools.
• You can lift at least 50 lbs. and handle sustained physical work on your feet.
• You read instructions and technical drawings with a strong mechanical aptitude.
• You communicate clearly and are comfortable with basic computer use.
• You adapt well as priorities and work requirements shift day to day.

PREFERRED (NICE TO HAVE)

• Prior experience working with turbochargers, compressors, or reciprocating engine components.
• Hands-on experience with sandblasting, glass beading, or surface preparation equipment.
• Familiarity with shop documentation or basic ERP/data-entry systems.
• A track record of strong teamwork and reliability in a fast-paced shop environment.
