Job Description

Immune Specific Accountabilities

  • Recognizes and understands flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
  • Responsible for immediately reporting flight/product safety concerns.
  • Participates in proactive risk analysis of flight/product safety critical parts and processes.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Reads and interprets specification manuals, blueprints, templates and layouts to determine machining operation to be performed.
  • Performs repair process by applying current & approved technical data and job instructions.
  • Computes dimensions and tolerances and measures and lays out work pieces.
  • Verifies dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers. Troubleshoots, debugs and modifies to achieve expected performance.
  • Sets up, operates and maintains CNC/Grinding/Lapping/CMM/Polishing/Pressure Blast/Peening/Lathe machine/ Chemical Cleaning Line using approved blueprints, component drawing specifications, job instructions and SOP.
  • Performs daily 5S and machine preventive maintenance using approved PM checklist.
  • Performs basic machine trouble shooting; solve technical issues and problems where appropriate in daily work.
  • Participates in audits, inspections and continuous improvement of cell processes.
  • Maintains personal qualifications as stated in the appropriate company process.
  • Cross trains in other complementary skills and seeks endorsements for those skills as needed to support production requirements.
  • Moves between production assignments that utilize multiple skills endorsements as needed to support production requirements.
  • Supervises trainees in the on-the-job trainer training requirements.
  • Participates in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.

Technical Requirements

  • Operate lifting equipment, CNC/Grinding/Lapping/CMM/Polishing/Pressure Blast/Peening/Lathe machine, Chemical Cleaning and other equipment as required.
  • Perform dimensional and geometric measurements, use of hand tools.
  • Possess high degree of mechanical & mathematical aptitude, accuracy and precision.
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing, tool design, fabrication methods and processes, metallurgy and heat treating.
  • Working knowledge of welding, hydraulics, electricity and pneumatics.
  • Awareness and understanding of Basic Human Factors and Error Management
  • Self- disciplined and able to communicate effectively and work as a team.
  • Apply workplace safety and health practices and perform basic safety practices and documentation.
  • Apply 5S and basic CI techniques in the workplace.

Qualifications:

  • NITEC in Precision Machining/Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics
  • Experience in operating surface / cylindrical grinding / milling /manual lathe/ CNC Machine/ CMM / Pressure Blast/ Peening machine / Chemical Cleaning Equipment
