As a CNC Machinist, you’ll set up, adjust, and support machining operations to produce precision components that meet strict safety and quality standards. You will play a critical role in ensuring product integrity, supporting production efficiency, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

What you’ll do:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical manuals to determine machining operations
  • Compute dimensions, tolerances, and lay out workpieces for machining processes
  • Set up and adjust machine tools to support machining operations and operators
  • Verify product dimensions using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Troubleshoot and modify processes or setups to achieve required performance and specifications
  • Identify and report flight/product safety concerns and participate in risk analysis activities
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production cell
  • Cross-train in complementary skills and assist in training other technicians as needed
  • Follow all safety protocols and report unsafe conditions immediately
  • Move between production assignments as required to support operational needs

Basic Qualifications

  • Completion of a machinist apprenticeship program or trade certification in machining or a related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience in a production environment
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings
  • Experience using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic machining calculations (e.g., tolerances, dimensions, geometry) and setups.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted for approximately 25% of the workday
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods (2+ hours at a time) during the workday
  • Basic computer proficiency with production or manufacturing systems

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tool design, metallurgy, and heat treatment methods
  • Familiarity with welding, hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatic systems
  • Experience working with OEM manuals, rework instructions, and safety data (MSDS)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a machining environment
  • Understanding of safety-critical parts, Just Culture principles, and risk awareness practices
