Job Description

Role and Responsibilities:

Afternoon Shift: 3:30pm to 11:30pm (Overtime as Required)

Based at our Para Hills West Head Office—home since 1983—this site is a key global Liebherr facility specialising in the manufacture and repair of large-scale mining buckets.

Our South Australian workshop builds and rebuilds buckets for the full Liebherr excavator range, designed for Australia’s toughest mining conditions. We’re now looking for an experienced Machinist to join our Fabrication team in the Mining Division.

  • Perform precision line boring and machining on heavy mining components (booms, buckets, pins & bushes) to tight OEM tolerances.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specs to accurately set up, machine and repair components right first time.

  • Operate workshop machinery, welding equipment and lifting gear (cranes, forklifts) safely and efficiently.

  • Carry out fitting, assembly and repair work including hydraulic components, fabrications and minor welding tasks.

  • Inspect, fault find and rectify defects in components, ensuring all work meets Liebherr quality and safety standards.

  • Keep jobs moving by managing workflow, completing accurate documentation, and contributing to continuous improvement in the workshop.

Skills & Experience:

  • Certificate III Engineering, Mechanical (Fitting & Machining) is a mandatory requirement for this role.

  • Line Boring experience is highly desirable.

  • Ideally you will have High Risk Licences such as LF, DG, CB & EWP.

  • Proven ability to operate MMAW, GTAW and GMAW welding machines

  • Able to work independently and have a demonstrated commitment to quality
