The Machinist is responsible for the mechanical maintenance of plant machineries and equipment including the machining and installation of spare parts

1. Machine and Equipment Maintenance

1a. Machining & Fabrication: Operates machine shop equipment (specifically lathe machines, roll grinding, fluting, and milling) to fabricate and repair spare parts conforming to precise machine specifications.

1b. Maintenance Execution: Performs daily preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and machinery to ensure efficient operation and prolong service life.

1c. Precision Measurement & Calibration: Uses precision measuring tools (micrometers, vernier calipers) to verify part dimensions and calibrates measuring instruments in compliance with ISO requirements.

1c. Emergency Response: Responds to shifting duty requirements, night calls, and unexpected maintenance emergencies as needed.

1d. Documentation: Accurate completion of Job Orders and regular updating of Maintenance Work Order Reports.

2. Raw Material Unloading Operations

2a. Performs Raw Material unloading operations and assists unloading Foreman ensuring maximum feed rate of discharging machines/ equipment used and that unloading time does not exceed existing standards.

2b. Acts as foreman during Raw Material unloading overseeing operations ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment.

2c. Coordinates with Siloman on details of silo space ensuring that the silo space ensuring that the silo space is available and is filled with the correct type and quantity of Raw Material.

2d. Troubleshoots unloading equipment ensuring that these run properly during Raw Material unloading operations.

3. Other Related Tasks to Operation

3a. Assures the accuracy and completeness of all Monitoring files, engineering records, reports, prints, and tasks of assigned projects.

3b. Learns and understands other processes through immersion and development training in other departments.

3c. Acts as reliever to production personnel as may be required.

3d. Establishes, maintains, recommends and implements a good housekeeping program for all areas of responsibility to ensure compliance to food safety standards set by GMP, HACCP & Halal.

3e. Lubricates plant machines and equipment in the absence of Lubman.

3f. Actively participates in company programs and provides support at all times.

3g. Performs related mechanical work as support to the department objective.

3h. Ensures compliance to food safety, good housekeeping and quality management system based on the standards of 5S, GMP, HACCP, Halal and ISO.

3i. Performs other tasks as maybe assigned by the immediate superior.

FOOD SAFETY:

  1. Complies with quality, Halal, health and food safety policy, standards and regulations of the company.

  2. Responsible for reporting problems related to Halal, food safety & quality management system to identified authorities.

Qualifications

Education:

  • At least 2 years of Mechanical Engineering Course or graduate of any related vocational/ technical course.

Experience:

  • At least three years experience in related works.

Other Requirements:

  • Handling basic mechanical hand tool and equipment.

  • Basic and Advance Lathe turning operation.

  • Specialized skills in operating roll grinding & fluting machine.

  • Basic Mechanical workshop and measuring tool.

  • Capability to interpret mechanical drawings, symbols and Plans.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English or in the vernacular both written and oral.
