As a Machinist

Be required to complete a machining function from start to finish. You will load fixtures/parts onto the machine, indicate them round and flat to the machine surface. Set tools and generate offsets. Be responsible for recording dimensions throughout the machining process.

What you’ll do:

  • Machine products to tight tolerances
  • Reads and interprets specification manuals, blueprints, templates and layouts to determine machining operation to be performed
  • Verifies dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers
  • Computes dimensions and tolerances and measures and lays out work pieces
  • Adjusts and sets up machine tools for use by machining tool operators
  • Participates in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements
  • Work independently and as a team to achieve maximum quality
  • Compute and verify dimensions to ensure accuracy
  • Observing all applicable safety practices
  • Carries out other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of experience as a Machinist including operating lathes or mills.
  • 3 or more years of experience reading/interpreting manuals and technical drawings, utilizing hands tools, and working with precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, gauges, micrometers).
  • 3 or more years of experience with manual machine tools operations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance
  • Ability to stand for 5 plus hours at a time
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Desired Skills

  • Preferred CNC or Manual Machinist Certification

  • VTL (Vertical Turning Lathe) experience

  • High degree of mechanical aptitude, accuracy and precision
