The Role

As an Engineering Moderator – Machining & Toolmaking (T Level), you will support quality assurance and moderation activities for providers delivering this specialist pathway.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Moderating provider marking in line with national quality assurance guidelines

• Conducting and documenting moderation, quality assurance, and advisory activity

• Providing clear advice and guidance to providers on assessment and marking decisions

• Producing detailed reports and feedback on assessment quality, evidence collection, and best practice

• Identifying issues and supporting continuous improvement in assessment delivery

• Taking part in training and standardisation activities to ensure consistency and high performance

Ideal Candidate

You’ll be a confident occupational expert with strong technical credibility and a passion for maintaining high standards in education and assessment.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Significant industry experience in Machining and/or Toolmaking

• A background in engineering or manufacturing environments

• Experience in assessment, moderation, verification, or technical training (highly desirable)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• The ability to work independently and apply professional judgement

• A commitment to fairness, consistency, and quality assurance
