Location: Elmira, MI

Oversees machine production by assigning and reviewing information pertinent to daily production. Work with management, production, quality, and engineering to maintain, improve, and innovate production processes and intent. Have the ability to run and program any machine under their supervision. Supervises a safe and environmentally responsible operation of Shipping and Receiving.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Promotes the culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. This includes adherence to and promotion of the company safety beliefs, employee engagement, competencies, code of conduct, and other policies and procedures.
  • Promotes safety awareness, accident prevention, and employee involvement with regard to a safe work environment. Ensures employees understand the safety expectations of the organization.
  • Understands time studies through process involvement and actual machine operation.
  • Uses M3 and other production web based apps to schedule, coordinate and prioritize work activities.
  • Develops and maintains work instructions, miscellaneous documents and forms in our ISO system.
  • Ensures employees are up to date with required training.
  • Drives continuous improvement measures.
  • Knows shipping and quality requirements for all processes.
  • Evaluates and documents employee performance through Performance Works.
  • Coordinates the flow of inbound materials delivered by common carriers.
  • Coordinates shipping schedules to and from our foundry and other EJ facilities such as Sunfield Distribution facility, Water Products and Pattern Shop.
  • Arranges for safe loading and unloading of trailers and works with the distribution center to optimize safe packaging of materials.
  • Minimizes cost of shipping operations.
  • Knowledge / understanding and experience with CNC programing
  • Experience with automation / robotic finishing processes is a plus

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

One year certificate from college or technical school; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have CNC programming knowledge.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
