Boom is building Superpower — a next-generation natural gas turbine being developed at a pace and cost point the industry says isn't possible. The parts that go into it have to be right. This role is how that happens at the bench.
What this job is
Machine Shop Technician is a hands-on production support role at the center of a working machine shop. You'll deburr and clean machined parts, do light bench assembly, verify dimensions, prep hardware for outside processes like anodizing and plating, mark and kit parts, and keep the shop organized and functional. You'll support machinists with material handling and fixturing, track consumables before they run out, and perform machine maintenance as part of your regular responsibilities.
You'll also get real exposure to CNC and CMM programming. Not as a future promise — as part of the job. If you want to grow toward machining or programming, this shop will give you that path. If you don't pursue it, that's a signal too.
This is not a role where you do the same task in the same order every day. Parts change, priorities shift, and the shop needs someone who figures out what needs to happen next without being told.
What you'll do
You probably have
You'll thrive here if
Boom is building something that hasn't been built before. The people on the shop floor are part of that.
