Job Description

The Machine Shop Supervisor directs activities within the operations team as it relates to machining and welding. These highly motivated individual will ensure efficient production while promoting and working safely within established policies and procedures.

Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Work Schedule: Mondays to Fridays from 7am to 4pm

Responsibilities:

• Supervise machining (CNC and manual) and welding teams
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence tools
• Monitor and maintain statistical process control
• Oversee production planning and scheduling
• Manage KPIs, including utilization, efficiency, productivity, scrap, and rework
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving using Lean manufacturing principles
• Develop and implement policies and procedures as needed
• Onboard and train new hires
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Supervisory experience within a machine shop environment
• Experience in CNC programming and/or manual machining
• Highly Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing tools

Preferred:

• BS or BA Degree (or pursuing a degree) in Engineering
• Knowledge of TIG and MIG welding
• Knowledge of welding standards (AWS, ASME)
• Experience with ISO-9001
