Job Description

Take your machine safety expertise to the next level as a Machine Safety Manager at the LEGO® Group. You’ll work closely with R&D and production teams to ensure new machinery is safe and compliant from day one, while defining standards to maintain and upgrade existing equipment across our global operations.

In this role, you’ll help turn innovative ideas into safe, reliable reality — where engineering excellence and safety go hand in hand!

Core Responsibilities

As a Machine Safety Manager, you will ensure employees’ safety and machinery compliance by fostering strong partner relations and global collaborations across LEGO® manufacturing sites. More specifically, you will:

  • Ensure that new equipment and machinery meet requirements in relation to both internal standards and external legislation, Machinery Directive, CE marking, and associated standards, while supporting the creation of the necessary documentation. This responsibility involves actively participating in machine R&D projects.

  • Support local machine safety teams in ensuring local compliance with the EU User Directive, particularly regarding inspection of equipment and machinery, as well as training and competency development.

  • Promote global collaboration by developing procedures for machine safety across LEGO® production sites and ensuring they are globally aligned, understood, and implemented.

  • Lead the development of global processes, tools, and guidelines.

  • Oversee global training on machine safety, keeping materials current through continuous learning and benchmarking.

This role is a fixed-term opportunity for 2 years (until the end of 2027) located in Billund, and there is no relocation assistance offered for this position.

Play your part in our team succeeding

You’ll join the Global Health and Safety team — our center of excellence for health and safety — setting the group’s direction, driving global standards, and striving for zero accidents.

As part of the Global Manufacturing Safety team (12 specialists), you’ll help ensure all LEGO® equipment and machinery are compliant and safe to operate.

  • Upstream: Secure safe and compliant machinery design before production implementation.

  • Downstream: Define standards for maintaining and upgrading existing machinery in line with evolving legislation.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Proven experience working with Machine Safety in a global production company

  • Experience working in a diverse organization with daily collaboration across different cultures and time zones.

  • Excellent collaborator and great teammate that puts the ‘customer’ needs first and understands that achieving team goals requires several compromises.

  • Experienced in navigating complex organizational structures and engaging with senior leaders and teams across all levels to build strong partnerships, influence decisions, and drive collaboration.

  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convert legal requirements into clear internal guidelines and requirements for colleagues and suppliers. Danish language is a plus.

  • A work approach dedicated to achieving goals and measuring outcomes, while consistently seeking improvements and advancements in projects and team activities.

  • Willingness to travel up to 20 days per year, depending on assigned projects.

  • Experience working on R&D projects for machinery would be a plus (not necessarily as a project manager).

The position is based in Billund, DK and relocation support is not offered for this role.
