Job Description

Position Purpose:

Machine Operators complete a variety of maintenance, development and operations tasks that promote the efficient production parts in the Rough Bore department.

Essential Functions:

  • During cycle load feed conveyor to machining centers and unload finished product
  • Continuously monitor the operation of Rough Bore, adjusting speeds and feed as required
  • Adjust the robot as needed
  • Maintain tooling; perform changeovers
  • Perform quality checks constantly 100% visual: record date
  • Interact with computer programs; use precision measuring instruments
  • Detect and report faulty products
  • Crosstrain other employees as required
  • Fork Truck Operator: drive fork truck, locate products in proper areas of the plant, move material and equipment where needed.

Education and Training:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); pass forklift training/driving skills test.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to work flexible schedule and overtime is required.
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete routine documents.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
