Operator initiates simple machine cycles/ manufacturing processes. Operator has limited manufacturing/quality knowledge and must be closely supervised.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Basic understanding of computer-based machine controls. Must have basic manufacturing/quality knowledge and be able to use simple measuring devices. Able to follow quality plans and work instructions. Able to use common tools of machine operations.

Education and/or Experience

High school graduate or GED required. Previous manufacturing experience not required but desirable.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Basic English communication skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) to be able to communicate and discuss with English speaking internal and external customers. Skill must be at a minimum of a 6th English grade level.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deal with problem involving a few concrete variables.
