Machine Operator – Food Manufacturing

Position Overview

We are seeking dependable, mechanically inclined Machine Operators to join a fast-paced food manufacturing team.

Whether you are looking to learn manufacturing equipment for the first time or already have machine operating and troubleshooting experience, this position offers an opportunity to develop your skills and advance through multiple operator levels.

Training is provided, and new operators receive structured safety training and mentorship during their first 90 days.

Operator Levels

Machine Operator I

Learn the fundamentals of equipment setup, cleanup, lot coding, production documentation, packing finished products, and basic machine operation.

Machine Operator II

Take on lead operation of tea-bagging equipment, production responsibilities, and machine troubleshooting in addition to Operator I responsibilities.

Machine Operator III

Operate as an advanced lead operator with strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to execute production with limited oversight.

The company's current structure specifically identifies three operator levels with increasing responsibility for machine operation and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, clean, and support production machinery.
• Monitor equipment during production and identify operating issues.
• Perform basic or advanced troubleshooting based on experience level.
• Complete lot coding, stamping, production logs, and required documentation.
• Pack finished tea products into shipping cases.
• Seal and prepare finished cases as required.
• Follow NSF sanitation and production requirements.
• Maintain clean and sanitary equipment and work areas.
• Use basic computer interfaces and machine control screens.
• Maintain strong attention to detail while operating semi-automated equipment.
• Cross-train and assist in training other team members as experience progresses.
• Follow all established food-production and workplace-safety procedures.

Qualifications

• No previous machine-operating experience required for entry-level candidates; training is available.
• Previous machine operation or manufacturing experience is valuable for higher operator levels.
• Mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Dependable and team-oriented.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand throughout an eight-hour shift, frequently lift up to 50 pounds, climb step ladders/lifts, and regularly bend, reach, stoop and kneel. Candidates should also be comfortable working in a production environment that may be dusty.
