Job Description

Set up and operate fabricating machines, according to designs and specifications.

Available shifts:

Evening shift 4:30pm-3:00am

Job Responsibilities/Key Accountabilities

  • Read and interpret drawings and cut lists.
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as laser, punch press, brake press, shears, flame cutters, and saws.
  • Read tape measures and calipers
  • Record and monitor material usage.
  • Follow all established quality guidelines.
  • Follow all established safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Requirements

  • Ability to use basic hand tools, power tools, tape measure, grinders, and saws safely.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
  • Ability to review designs and drawings (blueprints).
  • Strong attention to detail in measurements and design specifics.
  • Requires good judgment, and ability to work with others and perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Previous work with structural steel and sheet metal.
  • Experience operating a forklift.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Extended periods of standing, walking, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work in extreme heat and cold temperatures.
  • Frequent reaching and working overhead.
  • Ability to work at heights greater than 10 feet, including ladders and rooftops.
  • Ability to work in confined or tight spaces for extended periods of time.
