Job Description

Ichor Systems, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator to support production operations here in Fremont, CA.

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. This position plays a critical role in meeting production schedules, maintaining product quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Temporary Assignment: Temp-to-Hire opportunity with potential for permanent employment based on performance, attendance, and business needs.

Day Shift - Monday through Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm

• Set up and operate assigned machinery and production equipment according to established procedures and work instructions.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
• Load raw materials and unload finished products from equipment.
• Perform routine inspections and quality checks using gauges, calipers, measuring devices, and visual inspection techniques.
• Identify and troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and escalate issues when necessary.
• Complete production records, quality documentation, and other required paperwork accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
• Support preventive maintenance activities and equipment changeovers.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, maintenance technicians, quality personnel, and team members to meet production goals.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, quality, and workplace safety.
• Adhere to attendance and scheduling requirements, including overtime as business needs dictate.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
• Experience operating CNC equipment, automated machinery, or production equipment is a plus.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to read and follow work instructions, blueprints, specifications, and production schedules.
• Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Basic math and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and production reporting.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand movements.
• Ability to work around moving machinery and production equipment while following all safety procedures.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed footwear, as applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift certification or willingness to become certified.
• Experience in lean manufacturing environments.
• Experience with ERP or manufacturing software systems.
• Knowledge of quality management systems and inspection processes.

For candidates in California: The pay range for this position is $19.33 - $32.84 per hour. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and relevant education or training.
