Job Description

Blueshift is seeking a dedicated and motivated Operator to join our dynamic Operations team. This position is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and safe execution of our day shift, supporting key manufacturing processes such as operating specialized systems, collaborating with colleagues, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will embody a positive, can-do attitude, maintain a strong focus on safety, and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing improvement. Responsibilities:

  • System Operation: Operate and monitor the solvent recovery system to maintain optimal performance, making real-time adjustments to enhance efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Production Line Setup: Assist in preparing the production line for consistent and efficient operation, including calibrating equipment and verifying all settings to meet production standards.
  • Workspace Maintenance: Participate in post-run cleanup to uphold a safe and organized environment, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and ready for the next production cycle.
  • Safety Leadership: Engage in detailed risk assessments and comprehensive safety training to promote Blueshift’s commitment to a secure workplace and regulatory compliance.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Execute troubleshooting and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability, including diagnosing and resolving issues swiftly to reduce downtime.
  • Accurate Documentation: Maintain thorough records of production metrics, equipment logs, and maintenance activities to ensure operational traceability and compliance.
  • Quality Control: Prepare, test, and record quality control tests as per Standard Operating Procedures for raw materials, in-process and final film, and/or final product laminations.
  • Quality Compliance: Adhere strictly to the site’s Quality Management System (QMS) and regulatory protocols, aligning all activities with company and industry standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge and best practices, contributing positively to the team’s success.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to improve operational efficiency, safety standards, and overall effectiveness.

Work Schedule:

  • 4 days per week
  • Hours: 12 hours per shift (30-minute unpaid lunch)
  • Flexibility: Rotating schedules may be required to address high-demand periods or accommodate system upgrades.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, demonstrating proficiency with complex systems and processes.
  • Preferred experience with hazardous chemicals, including an understanding of safe handling practices and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to safely operate a fork truck, or willingness to obtain certification/training if required.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative setting.
  • Proven commitment to safety and quality, evidenced by adherence to protocols and successful audit results.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and the ability to meet industry-specific standards and certifications.
