The Opportunity

Due to staff movements, we are looking for an experienced plant operator to join our Murchison maintenance team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team in a role that is both rewarding and challenging. Reporting to the Supervisor, Murchison you will primarily be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various items of construction equipment and heavy plant. You will be working on projects for internal and external customers in the Murchison area while complying with all relevant code of practice and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete all necessary pre-start and machinery checks
  • Operate heavy vehicles, and other road construction equipment, including general

maintenance to best practice

  • Complete job records for worked completed (tablet based)
  • Take personal responsibility for the safety of your workmates, the environment, public and yourself
  • Complete physical labour tasks as required
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with the relevant job and work instruction.
  • Be available for ‘On Call’ work
  • Be flexible to work with a road maintenance team
  • Assist the Supervisor with day-to-day maintenance of plant and other site tasks

We’re looking for someone with

  • Minimum Class 4 driver’s license (Class 5 preferred)
  • Road Construction and Operator experience
  • Road Maintenance experience
  • Extensive earthworks & heavy plant machinery experience
  • Able to work both independently or as a team
  • An unwavering commitment towards living safely with a safety record to match
  • Be a reliable individual with a strong work ethic
