The Machine Operator is responsible for operating an AEM Unicore UCM425 machine used to manufacture transformer cores. This position will load materials, operate and monitor the machine, inspect finished parts, and ensure production requirements are met safely and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Operate the AEM Unicore UCM425 machine to produce transformer cores.
• Load electrical steel coils and other required materials.
• Monitor the machine during operation and make basic adjustments as needed.
• Inspect finished components for quality and identify obvious defects.
• Follow work instructions and production schedules.
• Perform basic machine troubleshooting and notify the supervisor of equipment issues.
• Perform routine daily machine checks and basic preventive maintenance.
• Safely operate hoists and other material-handling equipment as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
• Assist with other production duties as needed.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred, but not required.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Forklift experience or ability to obtain certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
• Ability to sit or stand while operating the machine.
• Occasional bending, reaching, and material handling.
Work Environment
Manufacturing environment involving machinery, electrical steel, material-handling equipment, and production equipment
