General Job Objective:
Perform set ups and operate machines to produce parts to blueprint specifications in support of and meeting production schedules. Employee will set up and perform a wide range of cutting, burning, drilling, boring, tapping, reaming, milling, facing and turning operations on the machines to produce a wide variety of parts and weldments from various ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys using advanced machining methods and programming techniques. Incumbent expected to support all company programs such as Lean, 5S, TPR, etc.
Minimum Job Requirements:
** Operate is defined as the ability to produce parts to specification without the assistance of another operator
** All machine tool trainees begin classification as a Machine operator
Essential Job Functions:
Must be able to consistently hold tolerances as specified on prints and drawings.
Must be able to perform all start up, routine maintenance procedures, and shut down processes for their assigned machine(s)
Other duties as determined by supervision.
Must be able to operate at least one Group 1 machining centers. See Appendix A “Machine Tool Groups”

This position is located on the production shop floor, in multiple buildings. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use tools or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand, reach, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Incumbent will work in a typical fabrication environment including the use of solvents, adhesives, hydraulic oil, petroleum products, etc. There is frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds.
