Machine Maintenance Technician 3 (Mansfield, MA)

​​As a Machine Maintenance Technician atSmith+Nephew, you willmaintainmanufacturing equipment to maximize operations performance. You will be part of the technical team that supportsproductionof medical devices. You will focus on preventative maintenance, correctivemaintenanceand improvements for better machine reliability. What will you be doing?

  • Responsibileforthemaintenancesupport ofall manufacturing equipmentat Smith + Nephew MansfieldThis includes performance of both “preventative maintenance”as well as“corrective maintenance”.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with manufacturing automation, laser welding/marking and CNC lathe/grindingmillingwire EDMequipment.
  • Supportmanufacturingengineering team with process improvements and upgrades to manufacturing equipment.
  • Additionally,willproperly document work performed and adhere to all good safety practices, lock outtag out, OSHA requirements, etc
  • Preventative Maintenanceexchanging equipment filters, changing lubricants, hydraulic oil,wear items,etc Adjustmentofequipmentto ensure continued operation of equipment atoptimalsettingsDocument activities using “Mainsaver” software
  • Corrective Maintenance –Respond to instances of manufacturing equipment breakdownsidentifiedby machine operators and machinists. Diagnoseequipmentissuewithsupportof engineering and leadoperatoras necessaryIn a safemannerrepair equipment to OEM standards and return to operations.Use “Mainsaver” software to document activityIfrepair isbeyondscopeofteam, work with externalvendorto repairequipmentas necessary
  • Additionally support projects and activities per management direction​.

What will you need to be successful?

Minimum Qualifications

  • Trade School or >5 years of progressive on the job training in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Experience with manufacturing automation.
  • Mechanical Aptitude, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, basic wiring

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CNC equipment preferred

Other

  • Must be able to lift50lbs on an occasional basis​.
  • Schedule: 1st Shift Mon-Fri 7am-3pm, Onsite

"The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $57,000 - $85,500 USD annually.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
