How You’ll Make an Impact

The Data Science team builds the models and systems behind credit scoring, fraud detection, profit optimization, and conversational AI — including the speech recognition, LLM, and text-to-speech technology that powers voice interactions with customers. As an MLE on this team, you'll sit at the center of that conversational AI stack: designing the decisioning logic, tuning the agents, and building the evaluation systems that keep them reliable in production.

You thrive here if you don't wait for a spec before you start testing an idea. You read the data, form a hypothesis, and run the experiment — and when something in the agent's behavior looks off, you notice it before it becomes a support ticket. You're comfortable being wrong in a v1 and fixing it in a v2 shipped the same week.

What You’ll Do

Conversational AI & Agent Design

• Own the design and implementation of conversational and decisioning logic that solves real business problems, not just technical ones.
• Build and customize AGI agents against specific business objectives, and adjust them as those objectives shift.

Model & Prompt Optimization

• Build systems that capture operational and user feedback, and turn that signal into concrete improvements to scripts, prompts, and models.
• Run structured experiments to raise agent performance, synthesizing results into changes you can defend with data.

Quality & Evaluation Systems

• Drive the automated QA and evaluation frameworks that measure agent performance and effectiveness — these are the systems that catch regressions before customers do.
• Build monitoring that surfaces drift early, so quality problems get caught at the source, not after they've shipped.

Data-Driven Decision Making

• Interpret results using statistical techniques and turn them into reports that drive decisions, not just describe what happened.
• Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders — a good model means nothing if no one acts on it.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Background

• Minimum 2 years of experience in IT, Computer Science, Banking, or Finance.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or Java.
• Strong hands-on experience in machine learning, statistics, and experimentation.
• Experience with SQL databases and statistical analysis.
• Familiarity with bank-related products like unsecured personal loans and credit cards is preferred.
• Experience with big data processing is a plus.
• Startup or tech background is a strong plus.

How You Work

• You actively use AI tools to craft precise prompts, critically evaluate model outputs, and extend what you can build and ship on your own.
• You experiment proactively instead of waiting to be told what to build — you produce results, then bring them to the table.
• You move fluidly between ML, data, and business context, coordinating across product and engineering without needing a handoff document.
• You treat every failed experiment as a learning input and keep sharpening your craft without being told to.

Skills & Competencies

• Product Architect — Prototypes working agentic systems, reads the metrics they produce, and iterates before anyone has to ask.
• AI Engineer/Architect — Ships end-to-end ML and agent systems, owning the path from data pipeline to production behavior.
• AI Operator — Keeps agents performing above quality threshold at target cost, catching drift before it reaches customers.
• Strong English communication skills (spoken and written — professional fluency required).
• High adaptability and comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
