Machine Builder - 1st Shift (Hopkins, MI)
DIRECT HIRE

You’ll work with electrical and hydraulic systems from the ground up—transforming schematics into fully operational equipment. The machine builder will be working in a team of 3-4 in the department. This person will be responsible for reviewing the electrical and mechanical prints to assemble the desired applications. this will include hosing, power units, plumbing, hydraulics, motor, pumps, complete electrical wiring and panel assembly. They typical project take 3-4 days to complete. They will be working as a team throughout the assembly of the compactors.

Starting Pay Range

• $23 - $27 per hour (based on experience)

Available Shift:

• 1st Shift, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire electrical components including motors, PLCs, and control panels
• Install and integrate hydraulic cylinders, hoses, and power units according to schematics
• Complete final machine assembly to meet quality and production standards
• Test, troubleshoot, and ensure systems perform safely and efficiently
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and aerial lifts while following all safety and LOTO procedures
• Partner with engineering and production teams to improve processes and build smarter

Experience Needed

• Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics and blueprints
• Strong wiring, soldering, and mechanical assembly skills
• Working knowledge of PPE, LOTO protocols, and equipment safety standards
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams

Must Haves

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical blue prints
• Manufacturing Assembly experience (Machine preferred)
• Experience working with mechanical builds (Construction, mechanic, welding, carpentry etc)
• Ability to work 50 hrs/wk., 10 hour day shifts.
