Position Description
Title: Machine Assembler
Department: Assembly
Reports to: Shift Supervisor
Status: Non-Exempt Hourly
Position Purpose: The Mechanical Assembler builds and assembles segments of machines by reading blueprints and drawings.

Principle Accountabilities
• Perform somewhat diversified duties to complete final assembly and electro-mechanical components and test of company’s products. (May include visual inspection of assembly).
• Assemble a variety of parts and components to produce finished products.
• Perform precision assembly of standardized products involving use of previously produced sub-assemblies and special parts.
• Fit and adjust parts and components to meet operating requirements of product.
• Attach labels and provide required accessories such as power cords.
• Complete and obtain inspection approval on test check list.
• Move finished product to temporary storage.
• Record data on a daily basis.
• Use a variety of hand tools including screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, knives, soldering iron, heat gun, scale weights and special tools and fixtures.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report these and any unusual situations to supervisor.
• Perform somewhat diversified duties to pack finished products.
• From written direction, gather materials and instructions and pack together into cartons.
• Cartons are stacked onto skids and finished product is moved to designated storage area
• Following written instructions perform somewhat diversified duties to make final inspection of finished products.
• Maintain required logs, detect faulty operations, defective material and report any unusual situations to supervisor.
• Comply with safety regulations.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and practices.
Essential Skills and Experience
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years related experience preferred.
• Ability to understand and read blueprints and plan/build from them.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
