Job Description

Glenhaven Academy is a residential treatment setting for adolescents that specializes in trauma informed care. Glenhaven provides 24-hour comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff.

During Your Internship You Will:

  • Receive both individual and group supervision.
  • Participate in weekly clinical meetings, SMART trainings and clinical groups.
  • Support the overall needs of the clinical department and program.
  • Support students in the milieu and school setting. 
  • Have the opportunity to do adjunctive case work with 1-2 clients through partnering with a Masters-level clinician and facilitating an additional individual therapy session each week.
  • Complete all documentation related to the clinical chart including individual and group progress notes and treatment plans.

Requirements:

  • Minimum working towards a Master’s degree or above in the mental health field (LCSW, LICSW, LMHC or LMFT).
  • LMHC supervision available. Cannot take LICSW supervision requirements at this time.
  • Our program has internship availabilities for Fall 2024, Winter 2024 and Spring 2025.
  • Please note: At this time, we are prioritizing students who can complete either both their practicum  and internship at the program or just their internship. We do not accept practicum-only students due to the level of care we provide and need students to be on-site more frequently. 
  • Clinical interest in working with children/adolescents is required and familiarity with trauma informed models of treatment preferred. 
  • Good written and oral communication skills are necessary.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.
