Reporting to the Senior Manager, M&A Business Operations, the Business Analyst plays a critical role in HUB's acquisition integration success. This position works collaboratively with M&A integration stakeholders to evaluate acquisition business operations and technology processes post-acquisition. The role requires deep property & casualty insurance expertise to effectively interview principals and operations professionals of newly acquired agencies, gathering comprehensive information about their current business operations, workflows, and applications to develop detailed gap analyses comparing acquisition current state with future state under HUB.

This is an opportunity to work on high-impact M&A projects with visibility to senior leadership, contributing directly to HUB's continued growth and success in the marketplace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Due Diligence & Discovery

  • Interview principals, operations managers, and subject matter experts of acquired agencies to understand day-to-day operations, workflows, organizational structure, and technology utilization
  • Conduct discovery sessions and walkthroughs to map current state business processes and identify integration friction points
  • Identify all key business processes, technology components, legacy systems, applications, and technical platforms used to enable operations

Requirements Gathering & Gap Analysis

  • Analyze current state operations and future state requirements to identify gaps, risks, issues, and integration needs
  • Document business and functional requirements in formal deliverables including Business Requirements Documents, PRD(s), business operations analyses, gap analyses, architecture maps, and business cases
  • Evaluate utility of legacy systems and how they will change or interact with HUB's systems

Integration Program Support

  • Manage multiple concurrent acquisition projects and participate in team and stakeholder meetings
  • Develop system and functional verification tests; coordinate user acceptance testing
  • Present findings and recommendations to executives, project teams, vendors, and new acquisition partners
  • Support development of M&A program management framework, including policies, standards, processes, and tools, and identify opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • 8-10 years property & casualty insurance line of business expertise with multi-line insurance agency experience required (employee benefits a plus); Bachelor's Degree (4-year degree) or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with M&A transition and technology transformation projects, including technology infrastructure implementations, application data conversions, and software lifecycle
  • Consultative mindset with change management experience and ability to guide acquisition teams through M&A integration
  • Strong business acumen with ability to understand business models quickly, coupled with critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships, collaborate across all organizational layers including virtual teams, and present complex analysis to executive stakeholders
  • Proficient with MS Excel (Advanced), Visio, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Atera reporting, InsureTech applications such as Applied Epic, Vertafore Products (BenefitPoint) and rating tools
