Within EY-Parthenon, the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Capital & Debt Advisory (CDA) team provides sector-focused advice in sourcing and executing M&A transactions as well as fundraising projects from sources such as venture capital / private equity funds, family offices, strategic investors, commercial banks, International Financial Institutions, and other national or European debt funding schemes.

We have ambitious plans, and we are seeking a highly performing managerial level professional to join our team in our offices either in Athens or Thessaloniki.

Your key responsibilities

• Become from day one a key member of our dynamic M&A and CDA team , performing in a professional environment alongside a vibrant and exciting team of experienced professionals, working with regional, national and international clients.
• Lead engagement teams and workstreams in buy or sell-side M&A and debt / equity raising engagements from deal origination, execution and process management through closing, ensuring excellent customer experience, timely project delivery and strong commercial outcomes.
• Manage client relationships and expectations along with stakeholder interactions (ie capital providers, client other advisors, other EY teams etc.), presenting key findings in a timely, concise yet insightful manner, identifying risks and opportunities and providing insights throughout transaction lifecycle.
• Build and review by providing leadership to junior team members in producing high quality marketing materials (pitchbooks, proposals, presentations, thought leadership etc.) and key deliverables (Teasers/IMs, Client Presentations, Business Plan and Valuation Reports etc.), while maintaining client confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
• Develop your own business network across industry, private equity firms, banks, legal and other advisors to enhance your origination capabilities over the medium term and contribute to market visibility and positioning of EY-Parthenon in the local market.

Skills & Attributes for Success

What we look for

• Excellent academic background, including a bachelor’s and masters’ degree from a top tier university in Accounting / Finance / Banking / Economics, or other related field.
• Minimum of 7 years relevant working experience, related to M&A and CDA from either an investment bank, a corporate finance advisory firm, a big4 professional services firm, or a Private Equity firm with demonstrable relevant track record.
• Excellent financial modelling and valuation skills.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and solid understanding of equity/debt capital markets instruments and EU state-aid legislation.
• Ability to make detailed assessments of industry, products, markets, competitors and customers to identify risks and opportunities.
• Proven client-facing experience and evidence of business development contribution and market networking capabilities.
• Ability to independently manage engagements and junior teams.
• Excellent written and verbal skills both in Greek and English
• Excellent knowledge in MS Office packages, in particular MS Excel and PowerPoint and AI tools.
• Excellent project management, attention to detail, communication, problem solving, interpersonal and teaming skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to develop long-lasting relationships both internally and externally.
• Willingness to learn, proactivity and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas, while working in a multicultural corporate environment.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• An active CPA/ACCA/ACA/CFA certification (or in a final stage of completion)
• Experience in projects with EU State-Aid regulation (Recovery & Resilience Fund)
