Job Description

Ampcontrol is entering an exciting phase of strategic growth, focussed on expanding our presence in attractive markets, strengthening our capabilities and building deeper partnerships with customers across energy, critical infrastructure, resources and industrial sectors.

As we pursue these opportunities, mergers and acquisitions, partnerships and strategic investments will play an important role in accelerating growth, expanding Ampcontrol’s capabilities and strengthening our market position.

Reporting to the Group Manager – Strategy, the M&A Analyst will support the identification, evaluation and execution of acquisition, partnership and investment opportunities, providing research, financial modelling and commercial analysis to support key strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

  • Research and identify potential acquisition and partnership opportunities.
  • Maintain M&A target lists, company profiles and opportunity pipelines.
  • Conduct market, industry, competitor and company research.
  • Analyse financial performance, forecasts, working capital and key transaction metrics.
  • Build and maintain financial models, valuations and scenario analyses.
  • Support due diligence, data room reviews and transaction workstreams.
  • Prepare analysis, briefing papers and presentations for management and Board consideration.
  • Track transaction milestones, risks, actions and deliverables.
  • Support integration planning and post-acquisition performance tracking.
  • Contribute to improving M&A tools, processes and analytical capability.

About you

You’ll be an analytical and commercially minded professional with a strong interest in M&A, corporate strategy and investment analysis.

You’ll bring:

A tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Business, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Experience in financial analysis, commercial analysis, transaction services, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, strategy or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong analytical, numerical and research skills.
  • Sound financial modelling and valuation capability.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate work within deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across teams.

Exposure to M&A, due diligence, valuation, investment assessment or business case development will be highly regarded, as will experience in industrial, infrastructure, energy, manufacturing or resources environments.
