Under direction of the immediate supervisor, the Specialist participates in the execution and coordination of manufacturing processes following quality, safety, and environmental rules. He/She interprets analytical data, may review existing procedures and methods and in some cases may write laboratory procedures. He/She performs and/or supervises a variety of routine and specialized tasks, prepares materials, reagents, and equipment, runs specialized laboratory tests and procedures for which he/she has been adequately trained, and compiles data. He/She performs and/or coordinates routine equipment and laboratory maintenance.

Specifically for this job, He/She willcarry out an intensive follow-up of the lyophilization equipment both in its operation rutine and in possible preventive actions, as well as collaborate in research tasks related to lyophilization tasks.

Regarding the relation ship with others areas of the manufacturing services section, He/She will collaborate in those routine tasks and improvement projects for which He/She will be required.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conducts manufacturing processes and laboratory tests according to approved instructions.

  • Operates a variety of laboratory equipment.

  • Compiles manufacturing data, performs the required calculations and complete the corresponding manufacturing and testing records.

  • Maintains a clean, sanitary and well resourced work area in accordance with approved practices and the regulations in place.

  • Follow strict laboratory, quality, safety and environmental procedures according to regulations in place.

  • Under the supervision of his manager and with the support -if needed- of other colleagues, can collaborate in the transfer & set up of new processes and systems.

  • Participates in activities related to continuous improvement, 5S and Lean Six-Sigma.

  • Mentor or Support the training of newcomers.

  • Support other colleagues, specially in some complex processes, tests and tasks.

  • Based on his/her expertise, he/she will review the new manufacturing processes and related documents prior to their implementation.

  • Collaborate in the resolution of technical incidences, non-conformances and change-controls as well as in the preparation of validation lots.

  • Assume the coordination of a certain group of colleagues in the absence if is necessary.

To be determined based on the department needs, to include interactions such as:

  • Mainly with R&D, Quality and Operations colleagues.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

  • Education:

    • Required: Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior in Science or Health-related field, completed with experience in chemical, biological, or health-related laboratory Degree may be substituted by relevant skills and work experience.

    • Valuable: Any additional degree higher than that required in the previous section.

  • Experience:

    • Specific experience will be required in freeze, drying, use of laboratory equipment.

  • Additional Skills/Knowledge:

    • Software: Fluency in Office Tools (Excel & Word), Valuable Basic knowledge in SAP.

    • Language: Fluency in Spanish or Catalan. Medium knowledge of English (reading and speaking).

Travel requirements:

Sporadic travel or short-term assigment to an external lab may be requested.
