RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Front Office Associate & Limited X-Ray Technologist to join our team. As a Front Office Associate & Limited X-Ray Technologist, you will be responsible for providing services to patients and referring professionals by completing registration, insurance and scheduling duties. This role also serves as a Limited X-ray Technologist, as needed and under the supervision of a licensed radiologist or registered technologist, focusing exclusively on x-rays of the bony anatomy within a defined scope of practice to obtain diagnostic radiographs per state guidelines (may vary by state). This position is full-time, working 7:00am - 3:30pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(50%) Registration

1. Greet and checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services; processes payments and copays as needed
2. Answer phones and handles calls in an efficient and friendly manner
3. Field phone calls appropriately for Center Team Members
4. Act as liaison between imaging technologists and the patients waiting for exams, and relays messages regarding scanner status and other Clinic information
5. Maintain organization of the front office lobby area by straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies and assisting with general office cleanup
6. Order office supplies as needed
7. Maintain supply of patient information sheets
8. Push patient imaging via electronic interfaces
9. Complete patient appointment confirmation calls and provide preparation instructions to patients
10. Fax/scan reports, billing information, and medical release forms as requested

(15%) Scheduling

1. Arrange transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriate
2. Enter and submit patient exam orders
3. Verify patient exam orders match exam schedules
4. Schedule referrals and ensures proper authorizations are obtained
5. Schedule walk-in patients
6. Process requests for image orders and CDs from both the referring physicians and patients
7. Maintain an up-to-date and accurate database of all current and potential referring physicians

(15%) Insurance

1. Verify patient’s insurance coverage
2. Pre-certify all patient exams with the patient’s insurance company
3. Obtain insurance authorizations
4. Apply knowledge of insurance carriers (example Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain pre-authorization, if needed, prior to patient appointments
5. Facilitate Release of Information (ROI) requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys & insurance companies following Company guidelines

15% Limited X-Ray Tech

1. Produce diagnostic images of the bony anatomy, in a limited assigned area of the body, under the supervision of a Radiologist or Registered Radiographic Technologist, per State prescribed guidelines
2. Perform quality control tasks as assigned
3. Promote and motivate good customer relations with patients, physicians, visitors, and other company team members
4. Maintain an orderly and clean work area to promote good safety habits for patients and other team members
5. Maintain accurate patient records within Radiologic Information System (RIS)

(5%) Completes other tasks and projects as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

1. High School Diploma, or equivalent
2. Successful completion of a Limited Technologist course through an accredited academic program
3. One (1) year of Customer Service experience
4. Proficient in using computer systems and typing
5. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel

Preferred:

1. Previous limited x-ray technologist experience
2. Previous medical office experience
3. Medical terminology and office background
4. Insurance knowledge
5. Bilingual
