Job Description
Lead Luxury beauty brand business in Korea. Drive sustainable growth, P&L performance, and market share gain. Own local strategy execution, ensuring brand relevancy, commercial excellence, and competitive advantage. Act as the voice of the local market to Regional and Global teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and own the market strategy – be the voice / expert of what is needed and synthesize it into all aspects of the business including luxury positioning, brand differentiation, customer acquisition and loyalty.
- Promote information sharing by proactively and effectively transmitting this intelligence to regional/global teams, as well as leveraging expertise of the region/global teams to define strategy and align local market strategies with overarching corporate objectives.
- Lead strategic initiatives that foster innovation, enhance market competitiveness through local nuances, and ensure sustained growth
- Curate development plans across: distribution and channel development, category management, communication, operations infrastructure, consumer engagement tools
- Drive individual strategies based on local dynamics and Luxury brand opportunity, whilst identifying and driving regional synergies
Business Development and P&L
- Set long-and-short-term market share ambition and corresponding financial targets, ensuring protection and consistency in Brand Image and upholding Equity
- Develop the P&L for the Luxury brands by devising and managing market ambition based on priorities and potential, in conjunction with Region / Global stakeholders
- Drive growth ahead of the competition, increasing market share / rankings. Execute granular opportunities by door, channel, category, and geographic expansion with excellence.
- Drive revenue growth and ensure profitability by optimizing channel, distribution, product portfolio, marketing investment and pricing
- Oversee sales forecasting, budgeting, and P&L performance
- Responsible for delivery of all financial goals. Holds ongoing business reviews, identifying risks with appropriate action and leveraging opportunities for mitigation management to meet shortfalls
Market & Consumer Insights
- Be the consumer expert and provide key market insights to region and global brands (consumer insights, trends, category, subcategory and local relevance). Identify the largest sub-category gaps and innovation needs. Define clear product strategy aligned with global/regional brand guidelines.
- Leverage consumer insights and market data across retailers, customers, products, prices and channels, ensuring local market relevance
- Stay ahead of cultural, economic, and social trends influencing consumer behaviour in the luxury segment
Partnerships & Stakeholder Management
- Anticipate, adapt and lead key changes in the market, including execution of DTC and omni-channel strategies
- Own the key accounts management and strategic plan for all major retailers and distributors, including overall relationship management, negotiations and joint business planning
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including both Global and Regional teams, retail / other external partners
- Negotiate contracts, partnerships, and distribution agreements to maximize market reach and brand impact
Execution Excellence
- Develops and leads business execution within luxury brands inclusive of: Distribution Strategy, Retail Operations, Eventing, Marketing, Communication et
- Oversees implementation of Channel and Store tiering strategy within the luxury brands and strong local execution of marketing programs
- Priorities and resource allocation per category/products/visualization
- Ensures consistency of implementation across the luxury brands with regard to pricing, product assortment, marketing calendar, and media strategy
- Ensures an integrated strategy across Luxury brands and all functional areas
- Facilitates Best Practice sharing through Region and the Global headquarters
Operational Delivery
- Oversee operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations and corporate policies
- Optimize Supply Chain (eg forecasting, distribution, shipping, logistics) to ensure efficient delivery and inventory management
- Drive efficiencies: streamlining operations, reducing costs, and implementing financial and management technologies to enhance efficiency of Brand operations
- Conducts trend analysis on P&L by accounts/door, promotions, product price structures, product profiles, trade term practices, and competitor positioning.
Region / Global Collaboration
- Actively contribute to the Regional Leadership Team, ensuring delivery of local insights to inform Region and Global Strategies.
- Provide strong local insights and collaborate with the Global Innovation Steering Committee to drive category and product innovation that aligns with local market needs and trends
- 'Voice of the market regarding program effectiveness across key strategic functional areas including Marketing, Store Design, Merchandising, Communication and Retail
Team, Culture & Development
- Manage and provide strategic direction to local team(Sales and Marketing only)
- Partner with Regional and Local Human Resources and other key stakeholders to develop strong Brand teams
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team across multiple disciplines, including retail, marketing and operations
- Act as a motivating leader to implement a high-performance culture, aligned to Beiersdorf values and BetheLead
- Coach local market teams to understand Brand philosophy and dynamics, how it arrives at objectives and effectiveness of strategies/tactics
- Identify career development needs and conduct appropriate succession planning
- Ensure that strengths and skills of employees are developed; monitor training with further coaching and counselling as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- 15+ years of experience in the beauty or luxury goods industries, with a proven track record in leadership role
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred
- Deep knowledge of luxury beauty market and consumer behavior
- Expertise and demonstrated success in driving growth and profitability within complex market dynamics and matrix organizations
- Ability to develop and execute long-term strategies that align to global objectives
- Exceptional team building, communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams
- Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and a market P&L
- Strong ability to identify trends and incorporate into actionable strategies
- Skilled in forging partnerships and driving win-win outcomes
