
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and CriticalCare Medicine is seeking a Lung Transplant Hospitalist.
Duties include the following :
1. Clinical: care involving patients with advanced lung disease referred for lung transplantation as well as care pertaining to patients after receiving lung transplantation admitted to the "Pulmonary Transplant Floor" Service.
2. Education: Several education opportunities including but not limited to complex immunosuppression, interaction with other specialties, when necessary, exposure to procedures such as bronchoscopies, ECMO workshops, monthly literature review, lung transplant grand rounds and participation in quality initiatives are present.
3. Research: Our group participates in several clinical trials, organ donation device optimization, ex-vivo lung perfusion. We have has mentored several medical students, residents and fellows in various research projects leading to invitations for oral and poster presentations at International Conferences such as American Thoracic Society, CHEST, International Society of Heart Lung Transplantation in addition to published peer reviewed manuscripts.
Applicants must have an M.D. degree or equivalent from an approved LCME medical school and satisfactory completion of an Internal Medicine residency program from an ACGMEaccredited program. The candidate must be eligible for Texas medical licensure and be board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine.
