Responsible for providing technology support for the Ludden Speech and Language Clinic under the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Provides support to all Communication and Science Disorders students, faculty and staff. Communicates with internal and external people to coordinate work. Five hours per week for Fall & Spring 26/27.

Examples of duties

  • Provide in-service training and consultation to students, faculty and staff for the purpose of maximizing the use of technology in providing speech therapy.
  • Explore field relevant technology and assistive technologies for the purpose of identifying appropriate assistive technologies and keeping current with best practices and up to date tools.
  • Maintain equipment and so ware used to support clinicians.
  • Install commonly used AAC and multi-lingual apps, including, but not limited to Vooks, Ultimate SLP and Propio.
  • Install AAC script builders on clinic computers.
  • Coordinate the purchase and download of applications for iPads and books for book clubs.
  • Coordinate the technology loan program for clients, including reset when returned.
  • Created HUB tickets and document escalate on process for issue resolution.
  • Validate app functionality so they are supported by current operating systems.
  • Provide support for Visipitch as requested.
  • Assist with installation of Medicat on Microsoft and MAC devices.
  • Ensure client medical files are coded properly and scan documents into the Medicat so ware.
  • Create training and record training videos as needed.
  • Maximize technology use in classrooms by aiding professors in development of presentations, videos, and digital classroom support .
  • Create digital training for faculty and students by collaborating with HUB and CIDAT to maximize digital use within department.
  • Aid faculty in Nursing Simulation Lab for utilization of digital simulation equipment.
  • Assist at student orientations as requested.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

of Hours:
Some flexibility with days and hours, 5 hours per week based on the school calendar. Some work can be completed remotely. Weekend and evening work may be required.
