Lube Technician manages all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks. They diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions. They are responsible for the service and customer support during field visits and dispatches.

Essential Functions

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements.
  • Inspect vehicles for safety and identify potential issues.
  • Communicate with customers about vehicle concerns and maintenance needs.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Continuously learn and improve technical skills through training and development.
  • Assist other team members, as needed.

Required Education and Experience

  • Previous experience with diesel engines and construction equipment preferred.
  • Proven field service experience preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts.

Military service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicable.

Work Environment

  • Work is primarily conducted in construction sites, equipment yards, and transportation routes.
  • Regular exposure to heavy machinery and diesel-powered equipment in operation.
  • Frequent outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
  • Physically demanding environment with uneven terrain, dust, mud, and loud noise levels.
  • Duties may involve both shop-based tasks and fieldwork, including travel to remote job sites.
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols is required at all times.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection must be worn as needed.
  • Must be comfortable operating around large equipment, performing tasks in confined spaces, or working from elevated positions.
  • Lifting heavy components and materials is often required.
  • Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as job site conditions and priorities can change rapidly.

Travel Required

  • Position may require several hours of driving daily to job sites.

Physical Demands

  • Requires a high level of physical stamina and mobility to perform duties in jobsite and yard environments.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of tools, chains, tarps, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds or more, often without assistance.
  • Regular bending, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and reaching to secure loads, inspect vehicles, or perform minor maintenance tasks.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working on foot, often on uneven terrain such as gravel, dirt, or pavement.
  • Climbing in and out of trucks, onto trailers, or occasionally onto equipment is required.
  • Must be able to work from various heights and maintain balance while performing tasks on steps, ladders, or platforms.
  • Fine motor skills and good manual dexterity needed for handling controls, securing tie-downs, and completing documentation.
  • Must be able to safely operate commercial vehicles and remain alert in potentially hazardous driving and yard conditions.
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, and positioning of heavy materials or components may be required.
