Job Description

1. Major Duties of YPs

  • Track progress, priorities and deadlines of assigned programs or work details.
  • Fulfil tasks set out by supervisor /mentors from the departments the Young Professional is assigned to.

2. Education Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant field obtained within 1 – 3 years from the date of application
  • Must be a Liberian citizen and 30 years or below during the time of application, as demonstrated by your officially issued National ID card or passport.
  • Should have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above at the time of graduation
  • A verifiable transcript and proof of graduation (presentation of degree)

  • Applicants residing in Counties, where AML operates (Bong, Nimba and Grand Bassa) will be prioritised.

4. Health and Safety

1.1 Ensure full compliance and enforcement of all applicable:

• Health & Safety legislation • AML standards, procedures, and Life Saving Rules

1.2 Demonstrate visible safety leadership by:

• Actively participating in and leading HSE initiatives

• Driving adherence to safe work practices across all operational areas

1.3 Ensure all incidents, hazards, and near misses are:

• Reported immediately

• Investigated thoroughly

• Closed with verified corrective actions

1.4 Lead and verify hazard identification and risk assessment processes (HIRAC), ensuring:

• Risks are effectively identified

• Controls are implemented and monitored

1.5 Enforce correct use of PPE across all work areas and ensure compliance with task-specific requirements.

1.6 Ensure workforce readiness by:

• Verifying understanding of emergency response procedures.

• Conducting drills and preparedness checks.

1.7 Monitor and enforce adherence to:

• Safe work procedures • Permit-to-work systems

• Operational safety standards

1.8 Ensure all equipment, tools, and machinery are:

• Operated safely

• Used in accordance with manufacturer specifications and AML requirements

1.9 Promote and maintain safe and orderly work environments, ensuring:

• Good housekeeping standards

• Elimination of workplace hazards

1.10 Drive a proactive safety culture by: • Promoting safe behaviours

• Intervening on unsafe acts and conditions • Reinforcing accountability at all levels

1.11 Lead and actively participate in:

• Safety committees (e.g., SHREPs)

• Safety meetings and engagements

1.12 Ensuring meaningful contribution and follow-up actions

1 13 Ensure accurate and timely HSE documentation and reporting, including:

• Inspections

5. Environment

1.1. Oversee and monitor the environmental performance of your department's functions, ensuring high levels of awareness and compliance with company environmental policies and relevant environmental laws.

1.2. Regularly review environmental performance metrics and indicators to track progress, identify trends, and address areas for improvement.

1.3. Ensure all environmental incidents are reported promptly and investigated thoroughly in line with company policies and legal requirements.

1.4. Uphold a culture of environmental responsibility and compliance within the organisation by setting clear expectations for incident reporting and response at all levels.

1.5. Collaborate with the Environment team to identify opportunities for environmental improvement and develop strategic programs to enhance sustainability practices.
