Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities / KPI’s

1. ROM Stockpile Management:

1.1. Supervise ROM stockpile sampling and quality monitoring and blending activities to ensure compliance with specifications.

1.2. Oversee and validate samples collected, labelled, and transported according to standard procedures.

1.3. Oversee and validate compliance with standard operating procedures for material tipping, extraction, and feed to the plant/mobile

units.

1.4. Maintain and update records of stockpile composition and quality trends.

1.5. Assist in preparing and submitting daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

1.6. Assist in planning and executing blending strategies to optimise feed quality to the plant and mobile units.

1.7. Identify and address quality deviations in coordination with mining and production teams.

1.8. Oversee the implementation of quality improvement initiatives and blending strategies



2. Finished Product Quality Monitoring – Plant Production:

2.1. Supervise finished products sampling, quality monitoring and blending activities to ensure compliance with specifications

activities.

2.2. Oversee and validate samples collected, labelled, and transported according to standard procedures.

2.3. Maintain sampling equipment and ensure calibration and cleanliness.

2.4. Coordinate with production teams to ensure material flow and segregation meet quality targets.

2.5. Coordinate with operators to manage feed material and reduce contamination.

2.6. Ensure compliance with customer specifications (e.g., Fe%, SiO₂, Al₂O₃, etc.). 2.7. Identify and report any quality deviations or non-conformances to relevant stakeholders. 2.8. Collaborate with production and logistics teams to adjust feed or blending strategies as needed.

2.9. Maintain and update records of stockpile inspections, sampling logs, and test results.

2.10. Assist in preparing and submitting daily, weekly, and monthly reports. 2.11. Supervise the implementation of quality improvement initiatives and blending strategies.

3. Finished Product Quality Monitoring – Train Loading:

3.1. Monitor and inspect finished product stockpiles to ensure compliance with quality specifications.

3.2. Supervise routine sampling activities during train loading to ensure representative and accurate samples are collected.

3.3. Liaise with logistics and operational team to align loading plan to ensure efficient and quality-compliant train loading.

3.4. Identify and report any quality deviations or non-conformances to relevant stakeholders.

3.5. Maintain and update accurate records of quality control checks and sampling logs.

3.6. Assist in preparing and submitting daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

3.7. Supervise the implementation of quality improvement initiatives and blending strategies.

3.8. Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and operational standards during all quality control activities.

3.9. Ensure timely reporting of non-conformances and follow-up actions.

4. Finished product Quality Monitoring – Port and Vessel loading:

4.1. Monitor and manage finished product stockpiles to ensure quality consistency and readiness for shipment.

4.2. Supervise sampling activities during train offloading, stockpile building, and vessel loading to ensure representative and accurate

Samples are collected.

4.3. Liaise with Port logistics and operational team to align loading plan to ensure efficient and quality-compliant vessel loading.

4.4. Identify and report any quality deviations or non-conformances to relevant stakeholders.

4.5. Maintain and update accurate records of stockpile inspections, sampling logs, stockpile quality, vessel loading and test results.

4.6. Assist in preparing and submitting daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

4.7. Supervise the implementation of blending strategies and quality improvement initiatives.

4.8. Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and operational standards during all quality control activities.

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Knowledge

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Geology, Mining, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in quality control within the mining, bulk materials, or shipping industry with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.

• Strong understanding of sampling techniques, laboratory testing, and quality assurance protocols.

• Experience with vessel loading operations and bulk material handling is an advantage.

• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. • Strong communication and reporting abilities. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant quality management systems.

Working Conditions

• Flexibility in work hours may be required to accommodate mining schedules and operational demands, including potential on-call

duties.

• The position may involve extended periods of walking, standing, and manual sampling in rugged terrain.
