Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities / KPI’s

  • Conduct end-use verification of all ESG projects and activities to determine efficient use of resources. This includes regular field/site visits, interviews with beneficiaries, clients/vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Design strategies, tools, and systems for efficient end-use verification of all corporate social investment and sustainable development programs, projects, and activities of ArcelorMittal Liberia. This includes digital templates and database-linked inspection tools designed in accordance with ArcelorMittal's data management and information access standards.
  • Organize and lead studies and surveys to establish baseline indicators for all ESG activities prior to implementation. These will include needs assessment, censuses, managing the Village Profile, and related studies and surveys.
  • Maintain a dynamic directory of all ESG projects, programs, and interventions. The inventory will include GPS coordinates, monetary value, and other information in a shareable format for relevant stakeholders
  • Prepare periodic reports on ESG impact measurement. This will include weekly performance reports, quarterly impact measurement reports, and specialized reports related to evaluation, end-use verification and related activities.
  • Conduct regular key performance indicators (KPI) monitoring all sustainable development programs, projects, and activities.
  • Contribute to learning and knowledge transfer. This includes training of colleagues in end-use verification, continuous improvements, program evaluation and reporting.
  • Perform other related tasks as required by Supervisor.

Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge

1. Essential

  • Undergraduate degree in monitoring and evaluation, project Management, statistics, accountancy, demography, or actuarial science.

2. Desirable

  • A graduate degree in the above fields will be a good advantage.

3. KEY EXPERIENCES NEEDED PRIOR TO TAKING THIS POSITION

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation or impact measurement.

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced language and communication skills – spoken and written
  • Intermediate to advanced quantitative and analytical abilities.

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to field conditions such as dust, noise, heavy machinery, and varying weather during site inspections.

  • Long or variable working hours, including shift rotations and occasional on-call duties for critical operational events.
  • Hybrid work setting, combining field assessments with office-based data analysis, reporting, and coordination with operation

1.5. Wear appropriate PPE as required for specific tasks or environments and ensure that it is maintained and used correctly.

1.6. Be familiar with emergency response procedures, including evacuation routes, assembly points, and first aid protocols.

1.7. Follow established safe work practices and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, or illnesses.

1.8. Operate machinery, tools, and equipment safely, following manufacturer's instructions and the AML safety guidelines.

1.9. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace to reduce hazards and prevent accidents.

1.9.1. Promote a culture of health and safety awareness among coworkers by encouraging safe behaviors and reporting unsafe conditions.

1.9.2. Participate in health and safety committees or meetings as required, providing input and suggestions for improving workplace safety.

1.9.3. Keep accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities as required by company policy and regulations.

Environment

1.1. Oversee and monitor the environmental performance of your department's functions, ensuring high levels of awareness and compliance with company environmental policies and relevant environmental laws.

1.2. Regularly review environmental performance metrics and indicators to track progress, identify trends, and address areas for improvement.

1.3. Ensure all environmental incidents are reported promptly and investigated thoroughly in line with company policies and legal requirements.

1.4. Uphold a culture of environmental responsibility and compliance within the organization by setting clear expectations for incident reporting and response at all levels.

1.5. Collaborate with the Environment team to identify opportunities for environmental improvement and develop strategic programs to enhance sustainability practices.
